2024 Chevrolet Camaro SS Collector’s Edition

Chevrolet Commemorates Panther Code Name with Sixth-Generation Camaro Final Collector's Edition

From the moment it was introduced in 2016, the iconic sixth generation Camaro established itself as the leaner, meaner generation; culminating with the ZL1 1LE track athlete. Throughout the generation, Camaro featured a wide variety of special editions that ranged from charismatic with the 50 th Anniversary and Wild Cherry Design Package to edgy with the Shock and Steel and Redline Edition. As the Gen Six Camaro retires at the conclusion of the 2024 model year, Chevrolet is celebrating the car’s legacy of agility and style by offering a final special Collector’s Edition on the LT/RS, LT1, SS and ZL1 trims in North America. The 2024 Camaro Collector’s Edition resurfaces ties that date back to the development of the first-generation Camaro. Panther, the original code name for the program that became Camaro in the 1960s, provided inspiration for the Chevrolet Performance Design Studio’s efforts to cement the sixth generation of the car in history. “We found it fitting for this Collector’s Edition Camaro to officially recognize the significance of the original code name and share it with Camaro enthusiasts,” said Rich Scheer, design director, Chevrolet Performance. “Of course, the name ‘Panther’ influenced the colors used, Panther Black Metallic for SS and Panther Matte Black for ZL1.” The Collector’s Edition equips LT/RS, LT1 and SS trims with a new Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint, Satin Black accent stripes, 20-inch Satin Black or optional Polished Forged Wheels, the front splitter from the 1LE package and coupes receive the rear spoiler from the ZL1 package. The 650 horsepower LT4-powered ZL1 Collector’s Edition, limited to 350 units, will feature a Panther Black Matte exterior color – the first matte paint offered on Camaro from the factory. The ZL1 will also feature the front splitter from the ZL1 1LE, and the rear wing from ZL1 1LE on coupes. The Black Metallic ZL1 stripe, red brake calipers and black lug nuts complete the exterior look. On the inside, all 350 Collector’s Edition ZL1 vehicles receive a serialized steering wheel badge representing where that vehicle was built in sequence. Across all builds, Camaro Collector’s Editions receive unique front fender script badging that integrates a panther into the “R,” and a panther on the steering wheel badge. These Camaro builds also feature special floor mats with a laser-etched aluminum Collector’s Edition logo and unique black interior treatments. Those who purchase a Camaro Collector’s Edition will receive a welcome kit which contains two posters commemorating the Camaro generations and the Collector’s Edition. Camaro ZL1 Collector’s Edition owners will also receive a bespoke Canfield Sport 45mm watch from Shinola commemorating the Collector’s Edition, with an inscribed serial number that matches the number on their vehicle’s steering wheel badge. Thoughtfully crafted to carry the same ebonized presence as the 2024 Camaro Collector’s Edition, this wearable keepsake hosts Camaro and panther motifs, from the panther engraved watch band to the Camaro logo housed on the watch face. “Shinola is proud to share a legacy for quality, craftsmanship and performance with the Camaro nameplate, and we cherish the Detroit heritage that both Shinola and Chevrolet have,” Shinola CEO Awenate Cobbina said. Additional 2024 updates The 2024 Chevrolet Camaro will be available in coupe and convertible on LT, LT1, SS and ZL1 trims, with 1LE remaining an available option on SS and ZL1. Power for 2024 Camaro builds will come from the 3.6L V-6, 6.2L LT1 V-8 and the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V-8. New exterior colors Riptide Blue and Nitro Metallic Yellow can be selected across all trims. Chevrolet dealers will begin accepting orders for the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro on June 15, with a starting MSRP of $32,495 for the LT coupe and $38,495 for the LT convertible.

2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auct

First Retail Production 2024 Corvette E-Ray Raises $1.1 Million for DonorsChoose at Barrett-Jackson

The first ever, electrified 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray raised $1.1 million for education nonprofit DonorsChoose at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction on April 15. Corvette Executive Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter was on hand to generate excitement and encourage bids as the E-Ray crossed the block Saturday afternoon. Founded in 2000 with the goal of making it easy for anyone to provide resources to teachers, DonorsChoose has now fulfilled more than two and a half million classroom projects by connecting donors directly with requests from educators. Rick Hendrick, chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group and owner of 14-time NASCAR Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports, cast the winning bid of $1.1 million. One hundred percent of this sale price will assist DonorsChoose in continuing to meet the needs of public schools in low-income communities. Front 3/4 view of 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray in Riptide Blue crossing the auction block at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction. “General Motors and Chevrolet are proud to join DonorsChoose on its mission of combatting inequality in school funding by providing underserved communities with the resources needed for a quality education,” said Steve Majoros, chief marketing officer, Chevrolet. “The Corvette E-Ray is a special product for Chevrolet, and we are honored that the proceeds from the sale of VIN 001 will aid this organization in supporting students and teachers around the nation.” E-Ray marks an inflection point in the model’s 70-year history, expanding what Corvette can deliver. Powered by a 6.2L Small Block V-8 in the rear and an electric motor on the front axle, the first all-wheel drive Corvette produces a combined 655 horsepower. This is the quickest Corvette in history, completing 0-60 mph runs in 2.5 seconds. Prior to the sale of the 2024 Corvette E-Ray, Chevrolet also auctioned off first retail production models of the 2020 Corvette Stingray and the 2023 Corvette Z06. Together, these vehicles bring the total amount of money raised for charity by eighth generation Corvettes at Barrett-Jackson auctions to $9.1 million.

Heavy Hauling Done Right

Chevrolet continues to be the leader in heavy hauling necessary for busines and recreation. This story originally appeared in the Chevrolet's online magazine, New Roads. Small business owner Patrick Carl puts great care into storing and transporting people’s most treasured belongings. His heavy-duty Silverado HD makes it all possible. People put a lot of faith in Patrick Carl. They trust him to transport and store their treasured possessions, from precious family portraits and heirlooms to the everyday items that make a house a home. “I try to handle everybody’s belongings like I want mine taken care of,” says Carl, who relies on his 2020 Silverado 3500 HD LT pickup truck to do the work. Carl, 40, owns Create Space Storage near Kalamazoo, Michigan. He delivers high-end portable storage vaults directly to homes and businesses. When those containers are packed, he transports them wherever clients need them to be. Customers use the vaults to move their belongings to new homes and for temporary storage, such as during renovations. For those who need an off-site or long-term storage solution, containers are stashed in Carl’s climate-controlled warehouse. “It’s kind of like valet self-storage,” he explains. The Details Matter SILVERADO 3500 HD 6.6L AVAILABLE DURAMAX ® TURBO-DIESEL V8 ENGINE 445/910 AVAILABLE HP/LB.-FT. OF TORQUE † 20,000 LB. MAX CONVENTIONAL TOWING † Explore Silverado HD Build and Price Full containers are heavy. A load can top out at 12,000 pounds when you add the weight of the 30-foot-long trailer and delivery equipment, handled well by his truck’s towing capacity. “It’s heavy hauling,” Carl says, “but the pulling is just as smooth as can be” with the available Duramax ® 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine, which generates a confidence-instilling 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. † Driving down the road, I don’t even realize I’ve got the trailer on the back,” he says — and he’s delivered full storage containers as far as 200 miles away. “When we go long distances, the comfort in the cab is very nice.” Carl particularly enjoys the available heated driver and front passenger seats and heated steering wheel, which offer quick warmth after loading and unloading in cold Michigan winters. And finding customer locations is a breeze with Apple CarPlay ® compatibility. † “Having the navigation right on the screen is helpful,” Carl says.Previous Slide Some companies will use a small semi-truck to haul large storage containers. “I went with the Chevy truck because, at the end of the day, I can use it personally, too,” Carl says. “I can unhook from the trailer and take it to go play soccer, or golf, or mountain biking, or whatever I want to do after work.” On weekends, it’s not uncommon to find him loading up the truck bed with materials for a home landscaping project or towing a boat to nearby Gull Lake with his wife, Jenica, and young son, Paxton. The spacious cab has plenty of room for friends and family. The rear bench seat accommodates Paxton’s car seat, their dog Maya, and even the large toolbox Carl carries for work.Previous Slide RESTORING THE PAST: Patrick Carl’s 1960 Chevrolet C60 Viking work truck in the process of restoration. When he completes the renovation, he plans to show it at nearby cruise-ins for vintage automobiles. Reliability, then and now And, it’s a Chevy. Carl grew up driving Chevrolets and is restoring a 1960 Chevrolet C60 Viking work truck, which he plans to show at vintage car cruise-ins at the nearby Gilmore Car Museum. He even restored a historic lumber building to serve as his warehouse. For Carl, his Silverado HD is the right mix of modern technology and trusted heritage. “I don’t lose sleep wondering if my equipment is going to break down on me,” he says. Dependability is crucial when customers suffer a catastrophic event like a flood and need immediate, secure storage for their belongings. Being there when it counts has helped Create Space Storage grow from 24 containers in 2019 to a 110-container operation today. Carl also delivers rugged containers for construction sites and mobile offices. To keep up with demand, he recently bought a 2022 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ diesel pickup to expand his fleet. “I do everything I can to make my clients happy,” Carl says, and doing that hinges on his Chevy truck. “I heavily rely on it.”

OnStar and RapidDeploy Work Together to Enhance the Incident Response Experience

GM's OnStar Emergency Advisors now have access to RapidDeploy technology for supplemental location accuracy, improved mapping options and a clearer picture of emergency needs. GM's OnStar Emergency Advisors are now using RapidDeploy Radius Mapping technology to help improve incident response outcomes, which can benefit both OnStar members and emergency responders. When OnStar Emergency Advisors are notified of car crashes, stolen vehicles, button presses from inside the vehicle, or calls from OnStar members, they will now have a supplemental, map-based view of both publicly available and proprietary data, simplifying and helping to expedite the delivery of necessary services. "We're combining 25+ years of OnStar's leadership with RapidDeploy Radius Mapping to enhance, digitize and modernize responses to incidences, streamlining our connection and awareness of members in times of need," said Mike Devereux, vice president of OnStar Safety and Connectivity at GM. "With more than 200 Emergency Advisors, OnStar acts as an emergency triage center. It's vital that we work with quick and concise data to help ensure a timely delivery of services to our members or connect them with public safety as necessary." OnStar is utilizing RapidDeploy's platform to help synthesize telematics data in a map-based format to provide timely and clear situational awareness for the wide range of services OnStar Emergency Advisors perform for customers who have consented to receive those services. Key features of Radius Mapping technology include: Additional layers of location accuracy: upon member consent, OnStar Emergency Advisors can ping precise locations through the member’s mobile device. Improved mapping options on a single screen: providing supplementary information on potential evacuation routes, local emergency shelters and weather data during severe events. Access to publicly available street cameras: offering a view of emergency incidences for situational awareness. “We are honored to continue our work with OnStar as they bring RapidDeploy technology into the OnStar call centers,” said Steve Raucher, CEO and co-founder at RapidDeploy. “Next generation technology, while originally designed for 911, has many applications where modern mapping is needed to be combined with supplemental data and we are excited to work with OnStar as our first major enterprise customer.” In 2021, OnStar started working with RapidDeploy to deliver vehicle telematics directly to 911 centers. That same year, GM Ventures announced its participation in the $40 million Series B funding round for RapidDeploy.

Living Color

This story appears in Chevrolet's online magazine, New Roads Magazine. We wanted to share it to give everyone a glimpse into how the colors of Chevrolet vehicles are decided...years in advance! When it comes to choosing a color for your next vehicle, Jennifer Widrick is way ahead of you. Shopping for a new car involves a lot of decisions. Of all of them, choosing the color, material, and finish is probably the most fun. Those details help make a vehicle yours. Whatever you’re thinking for your next Chevrolet, there’s a good chance Jennifer Widrick, director of Global Color, Material, and Finish at General Motors, has thought of it too. Widrick has nearly two decades of experience working as a color and materials expert, first discovering a color and trim class while attending Detroit’s College for Creative Studies as a multidisciplinary artist. “All parts of my personality were firing, and it was really where I got to bring multiple materials together to tell stories, to create moods,” she says. Chevy’s diverse lineup and customer base allow Widrick and her team to push the limits of exterior color options. Right now, Widrick says, low-gloss and solids are popular, while effect pigments — rich, highly chromatic, complex colors like blues, greens, oranges, and reds — are having a moment as well. “Chroma is on the rise, and people want those opportunities where instead of a black you might opt for a blue,” she says. “Certainly red indicates sport, and we’ve seen a lot of lighter colors come into play, so the market is quite open, and that’s what is exciting about Chevrolet.” One growing trend is a pop of color on the roof to contrast with a more solid, neutral-colored vehicle body, or vice versa. “The Trailblazer is an excellent example of how the available two-tone roof opens up the flexibility to really have a lot of bold color,” Widrick says. The art of color-casting To forecast the colors customers will want, Widrick and her team work with groups across the globe to identify design trends and stay on top of cultural and consumer attitudes. “Quick-to-market concepts can be driven by seasonal products like fashion, while for inspiration staples we might utilize architecture or interior design,” Widrick says. Most recently, the team has been inspired by shoe design and innovative tech products. “Color and trim is the more emotional side of the business,” Widrick says. “When there’s something in the world that we see that makes us feel something and then we apply that to products — and it makes others feel that too — that’s a magical moment for us.” Widrick’s team is typically color forecasting three to five years in advance, meaning they’re currently planning up to the 2027 and 2028 model years. "OUR AIM IS ALWAYS TO HELP CUSTOMERS REACH THEIR ASPIRATIONAL SELVES, AND WE HAVE TO OFFER VARIETY TO BE SURE WE’RE OUTFITTING THEM WITH MEANINGFUL AND IMPACTFUL SELECTIONS." - Jennifer Widrick VIBRANT VOCABULARY Get to know the terms you might encounter when choosing the exterior color of your next vehicle. TINTCOAT A tint of color in the clearcoat used to enhance the basecoat. Tinted clears add depth and richness to show off the form of the exterior body. IRIDESCENT A shimmering or reflective effect in the appearance, created with combinations of exterior color pigments. METALLIC A paint appearance that is created through reflective pigment. The effect it creates is bright and with movement, used to highlight color on surface. TRICOAT A premium option that allows more metallic pigments to be added and involves painting a base, middle, and clearcoat to achieve depth of color and durability. A common thread Color and trim aren’t just icing on the cake at Chevy; they’re a critical component in the design of new vehicles. That’s why Widrick’s team is integrated from the beginning of the development process all the way through launch. “Shape and material have this intrinsic connection. When the shape and material are considered upfront, that’s truly when you get really beautiful executions,” Widrick says. “There are scenarios where we’re pursuing material-led design, where there is a specific material or sustainability goal that we’d like to achieve, and we’re working with the design teams in the inception.” One of Widrick’s goals is to seamlessly integrate sustainable materials while still meeting expectations around appearance, durability, and quality. “It is a thread that’s in everything that we do,” she says. “And it’s a very exciting time in the industry for us. As we expand our business to EVs, we are also pushing material technology to deliver the most responsible executions. Along with that, we’re pushing and pulling the product and dressing it for feelings and moods that excite and inspire. “Our aim is always to help customers reach their aspirational selves,” Widrick adds. “And we have to offer variety to be sure we’re outfitting them with meaningful and impactful selections.” Story by Casey Rosenhaus/Photography by Jenny Rishner

2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray 3LZ

For its 70th Birthday, Chevrolet Gives the World an Electrified AWD Corvette

First-ever eAWD Corvette E-Ray uses an advanced electrified propulsion system in addition to its 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8 enabling all-season performance and composure — and 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds Exactly 70 years after the Corvette debuted at Motorama in New York City, Chevrolet has returned to introduce the first-ever electrified Corvette with all-wheel-drive and a powerful 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8, the 2024 E-Ray. “In 1953, the enthusiastic reaction to the Chevrolet Corvette concept kicked off seven decades of passion, performance and American ingenuity,” said Mark Reuss, General Motors president. “E-Ray, as the first electrified, all-wheel-drive Corvette, takes it a step further and expands the promise of what Corvette can deliver.” Developed to be the Corvette owners can arrive in anywhere, no matter the season, the new E-Ray — available in removeable roof coupe and hardtop convertible models — uses electrification to enhance the driving experience with intense straight-line performance, all-weather confidence and sure-footed grand touring capabilities that can only be achieved with eAWD. E-Ray is also the only sports car pairing two separate propulsion systems to provide naturally aspirated V-8 power with electrified responsiveness powered by eAWD, making it one like none. “Corvette has been a halo for Chevrolet since 1953,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet. “E-Ray’s unprecedented blend of confidence, luxury performance, sophistication and style provides a new reason for more people to experience Corvette.” The E-Ray is the quickest production Corvette in history, clocking a 2.5-second 0-60 mph time before breezing through the quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds. “Corvettes must provide an exhilarating driving experience on backroads and tracks, and E-Ray nails it,” said Tadge Juechter, executive chief engineer, Corvette. “The electrification technology enhances the feeling of control in all conditions, adding an unexpected degree of composure.” A near immediate feeling of thrust from low-end torque is core to the Corvette driving experience, and the E-Ray packs plenty of it. Power comes from the 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8, putting 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque to the rear axle. It is complemented by an electric motor that channels an additional 160 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque through the front wheels via a 1.9 kWh battery pack, which is located between the seats. In total, E-Ray produces a combined 655 horsepower from both the electric motor and Small Block V-8. Creating its own lane E-Ray’s intelligent eAWD system is constantly learning the road surface, seamlessly adapting to meet traction conditions and driver needs. During spirited driving and in low traction environments, E-Ray’s eAWD system applies additional power to the front wheels, helping to enhance vehicle stability. There is no need for plug-in charging for the E-Ray’s battery system. The battery is charged via regenerative energy from coasting and braking, as well as during normal driving. Additional features and technologies of the all-new E-Ray include: Stealth Mode, an electric drive mode for the street, up to 45 mph New lightweight lithium-ion 12-volt battery that supports the LT2 V-8 engine’s stop/start functionality Standard Brembo Carbon Ceramic brake system for optimal braking performance Standard Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 with three distinct suspension settings Staggered 20- and 21-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires are available with an optional performance package Low, wide stance with crafted body styling that is 3.6 inches wider overall than Stingray Visceral sound experience that embodies the car’s dominating presence. The electric front motor works in harmony with the LT2 engine to create an invigorating sound Enhanced roster of driver assistance technologies (shared with all 2024 Corvette models), including Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking. Electrified propulsion details The 2024 Corvette E-Ray’s electrified propulsion system provides exhilarating acceleration to power out of corners and effortlessly complete passing maneuvers. It can also provide limited all-electric propulsion at the driver’s discretion upon startup. E-Ray’s standard Active Fuel Management system uses the electric motor to extend 4-cylinder operation in various driving scenarios. The amount of electric assist is tailored within each of the Corvette E-Ray’s six driver-selectable modes: Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, My Mode and Z-Mode. Drivers can also select the Charge+ feature which maximizes the battery’s state of charge. E-Ray Performance App on the infotainment system provides the driver with technical insights into how the propulsion system is operating. There are three primary display layouts: Gauges (displays dynamic power output from electric motor and V-8 engine) Dyno (provides graph of power/torque across selectable time intervals) Data (showcases electrical system performance and efficiency). The Corvette E-Ray’s electric motor over the front axle is compact, preserving space in the front storage compartment. Stealth Mode and tracking the E-Ray The Corvette E-Ray’s two driver-initiated electric modes enable the car to travel under electric propulsion in certain conditions. The electric motor also optimizes track performance. Stealth Mode enables all-electric driving, when selected at start-up, for a period of time before the engine turns on for normal driving. It is designed for quietly exiting a neighborhood, with a maximum speed of 45 mph. The engine automatically engages if the vehicle’s speed exceeds the limit, additional torque is requested by the driver, or the E-Ray’s battery pack is depleted. When it comes to leveraging the electrified propulsion system for enhanced track performance, E-Ray's eAWD control system applies torque to the front axle as needed. The Charge+ feature can be used to maximize battery state of charge for extended lapping. The custom-designed Performance Traction Management (PTM) modes are optimized in concert with the eAWD propulsion system. Distinguished design E-Ray’s appearance builds on the refined athletic styling and performance-driven design Corvette customers know and love. At a glance, the E-Ray shares its purposeful, wide-body proportions with the Z06, accommodating wide wheels that help manage the car’s greater torque delivery. The lightweight alloy wheels have a twisted five-spoke star design that is exclusive to E-Ray. “There’s never been a Corvette like E-Ray and its sophisticated design reflects that,” said Phil Zak, executive design director, Global Chevrolet. “It starts with the body color trim which draws your full attention to the exotic proportions of the E-Ray. The interiors allow customers to reflect their individual personalities with their choice of color executions that provide a refined or dynamic sport look and feel.” E-Ray design highlights include: Four aluminum wheel finishes Fourteen exterior color choices — including new for 2024 Riptide Blue, Seawolf Gray and Cacti An E-Ray-exclusive body-length stripe package in Electric Blue Standard carbon flash badging Available black exhaust tips and bright badging Available carbon fiber ground effects Optional carbon fiber wheels in carbon flash, visible carbon fiber finish or visible carbon fiber with a red stripe The E-Ray also introduces the all-new Artemis Dipped interior, which features complementary deep green tones on nearly every interior surface and will only be available on 2024 Corvettes. There are multiple options for customers to select when it comes to personalizing their E-Ray’s interior including two carbon fiber trim packages, three seat choices, seven interior colors, and more. Additionally, there are new Charge+ and Stop/Start buttons on the console and updates to the infotainment system and instrument cluster aimed at providing a more integrated appearance. Coming later this year The 2024 Corvette E-Ray goes on sale in 2023, with an MSRP of $104,295 for the 1LZ coupe and $111,295 for the 1LZ convertible model, with production to take place at GM’s Bowling Green Assembly facility in Kentucky, from U.S. and globally sourced parts.
