2021 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition

Chevrolet and Realtree today uncovered their newest outdoor truck collaboration: the 2021 Silverado Realtree® Edition. The limited-run truck brings together the rugged capability of Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss with exclusive graphics from Realtree, the world’s leading camouflage brand. This is the second collaboration between the two brands, following the success of the 2016 Silverado Realtree Edition.

“Silverado continues to offer customers more choice and capability where it counts,” said Bob Krapes, director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing. “Building on the popular Custom Trail Boss model, the new Realtree Edition offers hunting and fishing enthusiasts a truck perfectly matched to their passions.”

Like all Trail Boss models, the Realtree Edition will be equipped with a 2-inch factory suspension lift, 20-inch black wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT On-Off Road Tires and the Silverado’s Z71 Off-Road Package, which includes monotube Rancho® shocks, Hill Descent Control, automatic locking rear differential, skid plates and an AutoTrac® 2-speed transfer case. The Realtree Edition also includes the 5.3L V-8 engine with a 6-speed transmission and is available with the 6.2L V-8 that will provide an SAE-certified 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Realtree camouflage graphics are featured on the exclusive exterior, as well as the interior door trim, while the Realtree logo is integrated on the standard bedliner. These outdoor-ready touches are accompanied by black Silverado and Z71 badging, black rectangular dual-exhaust tips, 4-inch black round assist steps and all-weather floor liners. The truck is also equipped with Silverado’s Durabed, which offers the most standard cargo capacity in the segment, 12 standard tie-downs and a high-strength, roll-formed steel bed floor.

“Having worked closely with Chevrolet all these years, it’s great to see the team come out with the new 2021 Silverado Realtree Edition using our latest Timber pattern,” said Realtree designer and president, Bill Jordan. “You don’t realize how much goes into building a true performance truck until you look behind the scenes, and this new truck will mean so much to all outdoor enthusiasts.”

The 2021 Silverado Realtree Edition will be on display at the 2020 SHOT Show and available for sale at Chevrolet dealerships in summer 2020. Pricing will be announced closer to production.

Overland Journal has named the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison its first Overland Truck of the Year. In their review, the editors praised the Bison as “one of the most exceptional overland trucks ever sold in North America.”

For the inaugural competition, Overland Journal evaluated six midsize pickups, including the Colorado ZR2 Bison, Ford Ranger, Jeep Gladiator, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier and Honda Ridgeline. Editors drove these trucks thousands of miles on both roads and dirt trails, considering a range of criteria important for overlanding, including payload, durability, capability, efficiency and reliability ranking.

In his review, Overland Journal editor Scott Brady said:

“Our 2019 Overland Truck of the Year (midsize) goes to the Bison. Just a list of its features makes it the truck we always wanted, only better. It is available with a small-displacement turbo-diesel, front and rear locking differentials, a winch-ready steel front bumper, steel rear bumper with 1/4 panel protection, full-length rock sliders, and class-leading suspension. It checks all the boxes.”

Introduced as a 2019 model, the Colorado ZR2 Bison was designed in collaboration with Chevrolet and American Expedition Vehicles.

2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison

“From our very first meeting, Chevrolet and AEV agreed on a common goal: To build a truck capable of extreme off-road use and backed by a limited factory warranty,” said Darren Bohne, Chevrolet Colorado chief engineer. “As such, to be named the ultimate overland vehicle by the ultimate authority in overland travel is a huge honor for the entire team at Chevrolet and AEV.”

Off-road equipment on the Colorado ZR2 Bison includes:

  • Five skid plates to help protect the engine oil pan, fuel tank, transfer case and front and rear locking differentials; designed by AEV, these skid plates are constructed of hard, durable hot-stamped boron steel
  • AEV-designed stamped steel front and rear bumpers; the front bumper also features provisions for an aftermarket winch*
  • Large fender flares and ZR2 Bison-specific 17×8-inch aluminum wheels
  • Front and rear locking electronic differentials
  • Revolutionary Multimatic DSSV™ dampers
  • Cast-iron control arms for exceptional strength
  • Factory-modified rear axle with a 3.42 ratio, front and rear tracks widened by 3.5 inches and a factory suspension lifted 2 inches over a Colorado Z71
  • Available 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, capable of 186 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque

The Bison package is exclusively available on the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and is built at General Motors’ Wentzville Assembly Center in Missouri of globally sourced parts.

How often do we wish we had more time? Well, this year we all get a whole extra day! So we think it’d be a great idea to spend your extra day doing the things people often wish they had more time to do…because this year the solar system has given us a whole extra 24 hours on February 29.

That’s right, the solar system has given us more time.

No, this isn’t some confusing Marvel time travel schtick. According to TimeAndDate.com we need an extra day every four years, we would lose 6 hours every year and after 100 years, we would have lost an entire 24 days. Almost a whole month!

Here are some ideas of what to spend with your extra day based on our experience and a couple surveys:

• Spend time with family! Do what you enjoy doing with your family: game day, movie day, theme park, paint ball…whatever it is, you have time to do it!

• Exercise! People always say they don’t have time to exercise. Well, this year you have an extra 24 hours to squeeze a work out in. It could be an extra trip to the gym, an extra long walk with your 4-legged pal, or something you’ve always wanted to try!

• Spend time with friends! We know how hard it can be to schedule time with friends. But this year you have an extra day to make it happen. Use this Leap Year to schedule that dinner with friends that you’ve been saying (for years, probably) needs to happen.

• Pursue Your Hobbies! It’s important to have something that you enjoy doing simply for fun. Do you have a hobby that’s been left in the dust? A project that has stalled out…for months? Or maybe something you think you’d enjoy but haven’t had time to even try yet.

The 2020 Leap Year is the year to do it because you will have the time!

What would you do if you had extra time? Because this year, you do. Happy Leap Year!
