Interior Space

The Trax may be compact on the outside, but it’s roomy on the inside. It has eight different seating configurations enabling you to maximize your passenger and cargo capacity. With the 60/40 split folding rear seats in place, you have 18.7 cubic-feet of cargo space; with the rear seats folded, that increases to 48.4 cubic-feet. In addition, with the front passenger seat folded down, you can carry items up to 8-feet long.

Equinox models have 29.9 cubic-feet of storage behind the second-row seats and 63.9 cubic-feet with them folded. For the larger family, or for those weekend camping trips, the Blazer offers 30.5 cubic-feet of space behind the rear seats and an impressive 64.2 cubic-feet when they are folded.

Convenience Features

When you’ve got your hands full, you don’t want to have to fumble for your keys. Trax models feature standard remote keyless entry, while LT and Premier trims add remote start. The multifunction steering wheel puts control of audio, hands-free calling, and available cruise control at your fingertips. For added convenience, Equinox and Blazer models also offer the available hands-free, foot-activated power liftgate.

Performance and Economy

Powering the Trax is a lively and responsive 138 horsepower 1.5-liter engine producing 148 pound-feet of torque via a six-speed automatic transmission. It will return up to 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg for highway driving.

Standard in the Equinox is a 170 horsepower 1.5-liter engine delivering 203 pound-feet of torque. For city and highway driving it can return up to 26 and 32 mpg. LT and Premier trims have the option of a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine which produces 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque through a nine-speed transmission. This gives you a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.

Also available on the Equinox is a fuel efficient 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine, paired with a six-speed transmission giving you 137 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque while returning up to 39 mpg for highway driving.

The base Blazer trim has a 193 horsepower 2.5-liter engine producing 188 pound-feet of torque and giving you 27 mpg on the highway. Powering the other trims is a 3.6-liter V-6 delivering 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The V-6 offers a towing capacity of up to 4,500 pounds. Both engines are mated with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
