2021 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition Chevrolet and Realtree today uncovered their newest outdoor truck collaboration: the 2021 Silverado Realtree® Edition. The limited-run truck brings together the rugged capability of Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss with exclusive graphics from Realtree, the world’s leading camouflage brand. 2020 Stingray impresses independent group of prestigious journalists The all-new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has been selected as the 2020 North American Car of the Year by a 50-member jury of independent journalists. The Stingray was selected not only for its revolutionary mid-engine design, but for its level of refinement and impressive performance. The Corvette was previously honored with this award in 1998 for the introduction of the fifth generation and again in 2014 for the introduction of the seventh generation. Corvette executive chief engineer Tadge Juechter received the award this morning at a public ceremony held at the TCF Center in Detroit. “It’s humbling to be selected for this award by such an impressive jury of automotive journalists,” said Juechter. “Our team poured our hearts and souls into this vehicle, and to see such an overwhelmingly positive reception makes it all worthwhile. The vehicles’ load floors are significantly lower, providing a more natural seating position and a remarkable gain of 10 inches (254 mm) of third-row legroom, with big increases in cargo space. Tahoe: The leader expands with 66 percent more cargo space Already America’s best-selling full-size SUV, accounting for more than 25 percent of the segment, the redesigned, fifth-generation 2021 Tahoe features substantially more usable space.  With a 4.9-inch (125 mm) longer wheelbase and a 6.7-inch (169 mm) increase in overall length compared to the current model, Tahoe offers 40 percent more third-row legroom and 66 percent greater cargo volume behind the third row. The space gain is achieved efficiently; while maximum cargo room increases 30 percent, Tahoe’s overall length increased less than 4 percent. With a 4.1-inch (105 mm) increase in the wheelbase and a lower cargo floor, the new Suburban has the most passenger and cargo space of any SUV. Both the second- and third-row seats also fold more easily, and the load floor is now both flatter and lower than prior models – improving the ease of loading and unloading. The rear-door openings for the Tahoe are also larger, thanks to the increase in wheelbase. Compromise-free performance The 2021 Tahoe and Suburban are powered by V-8 engines that are among the most advanced in Chevrolet’s history, as well as an all-new Duramax turbo-diesel engine. All are matched with a new 10-speed automatic transmission with electronic shift control. A 5.3L V-8 rated at 355 horsepower (265 kilowatts) is standard on LS, LT, Z71, RST, and Premier models; and a 6.2L V-8 rated at 420 horsepower (313 kW) is standard on High Country. Both feature industry-first Dynamic Fuel Management technology, with more than 12 modes of cylinder deactivation that are designed to optimize engine efficiency across a broad range of driving conditions, including when towing a trailer. The engines also feature automatic stop/start technology, direct injection and variable valve timing, which all contribute to the balance of performance and efficiency. The optional Duramax 3.0L inline-six turbo-diesel is available on all models except Z71. It is a clean-sheet engine design developed for full-size truck and SUV applications, where torque means everything for confident, on-demand power and trailering capability. The Duramax is rated at 277 horsepower (207 kW) and a strong 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque. No full-size SUV competitor offers a diesel engine. It is expected to give the new SUVs some of the highest fuel economy ratings in the segment. Highly durable materials make up the 3.0L Duramax’s critical components, including iron cylinder liners within the aluminum engine block, a forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods, and blended silicon/aluminum pistons for greater heat resistance and reduced expansion. Because trailering is important to many full-size SUV customers, the new Tahoe and Suburban include new trailering technologies pioneered by the Silverado pickups. A Max Trailering package is available and includes a high-capacity radiator and cooling fan, an integrated trailer brake controller, a Hitch Guidance with Hitch View feature and the Chevrolet trailering app. Tahoe and Suburban drivers will have up to nine camera views – more than any competitive full-size SUV. The available features are designed to help improve the trailering experience with easier hitching using rear camera guidelines, bolstering confidence when towing a trailer. Additional features include a trailering app with trailer profiles, trailer tire pressure, and temperature monitoring and Side Blind Zone Alert 1 for trailering. Tahoe and Suburban will have Chevy’s industry-first trailering label that is located on the driver's side door jamb. This label provides customers with the information necessary to calculate their vehicle’s exact capacities. Most advanced available suspension in the segment To improve the driving experience, engineers for the 2021 Tahoe and Suburban developed an all-new chassis that integrates the longer wheelbase spans and the independent multilink rear suspension. In addition, the all-new models offer both the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension system and Magnetic Ride Control – not offered by any competitor – that deliver even greater body control. “I think the most impressive aspect of the all-new Tahoe and Suburban is how well they handle,” said Herrick. “Despite being big, they offer responsive, confidence-inspiring handling that will change expectations for the full-size SUV driving experience.” The independent multilink rear suspension fundamentally transforms the driving dynamics of the Tahoe and Suburban, allowing each rear wheel to handle road conditions separately to dramatically enhance ride quality, steering responsiveness and overall driver control, compared to the previous live axle design. Tahoe and Suburban’s new multilink independent rear suspension, which is composed of three lateral arms, a large longitudinal arm, coil springs and a robust stabilizer bar, offers the ride sophistication and isolating characteristics typically associated with smaller vehicles but scaled for the superior capability requirements of full-size SUVs. The Air Ride Adaptive Suspension is available on High Country and Z71 models and delivers automatic load-leveling and ride-height adjustment. The ride-height can adjust up to 4 inches (101 mm). In highway driving, the system automatically lowers the ride height ¾-inch (19 mm) to improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. A driver-selectable setting lowers the suspension 2 inches (51 mm) to aid passenger entry and exit when the vehicle is parked. Drivers can also raise the body for additional ground clearance when driving off-road by 1 inch (25 mm) at low speeds in 4WD HI, and an additional 1 inch (25 mm) at lower speeds in 4WD LO. Tahoe and Suburban feature one of the industry’s most sophisticated chassis technologies in Magnetic Ride Control, which is standard on Premier and High Country, and available on Z71. It is one of the fastest-reacting damping systems in the industry, using sensors to continually “read” the road and alter the damping rate of the shocks almost instantly. It reacts much faster than traditional shock absorbers to reduce bouncing, body roll, and vibrations that can often resonate in a large SUV. Expanded range of standard and available safety technologies Chevrolet is expanding key safety and driver awareness features for the all-new Tahoe and Suburban, with Automatic Emergency Braking 1 standard on all models. A recent study by University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute analyzed the effectiveness of active safety technologies, showing dramatic reductions in certain types of crashes on vehicles equipped with advanced safety features, including a 21 percent reduction in crashes with Forward Collision Alert. Digital platform for today’s technologies and tomorrow’s challenges Tahoe and Suburban’s higher level of technology is enabled by an all-new digital vehicle platform. This next-generation system has five times more data-processing power than the system in current models. It not only drives the new technologies with incredible speed but is designed to support vehicle health monitoring and the ability for over-the-air updates – with ample bandwidth to add future technologies not yet offered. Bigger, bolder proportions Chevy Truck designers created an entirely new look for Tahoe and Suburban, with a bolder stance and proportions. Six distinctive models double the trim lineup for 2021 Tahoe and Suburban, giving customers more choices and enabling designers to explore distinctive personalities across the range. The interior is brighter thanks to expanded glass areas – including an available panoramic sunroof and class-leading display technologies – and more refined with premium materials. The unique front fascia includes a black ice finish on the grille, while the interior includes RST-specific seats with stitching in a contrasting color. 2020 marks the 85th production year of the original, sport utility vehicle. What are your memories of the Chevrolet Suburban?? Back in 1935, the world was a vastly changing place still reeling from the effects of the Great Depression. Amidst all this, Americans still found a way to reach new heights of innovation and achievement. Movies debuted in color for the first time, baseball home run records were shattered, and the last concrete was poured at the Hoover Dam, the world’s largest at the time. That same year, Chevrolet introduced the Suburban in the United States. Still in production eight and a half decades since its debut, the Suburban has earned the title of the industry’s longest-running nameplate. In fact, Suburban is the first vehicle to reach 85 years of continuous production. “While the world has changed significantly, the Suburban is just as relevant today as it was in 1935. From family road-trips to dignitary protection, to TV and film and everywhere in-between, over the last 85 years the Suburban has become a fixture of Americana.” Over the years, the Suburban has cemented its place in the hearts of many. As a beloved part of the family, trusted bodyguard and member of the armed forces, first responder and even a movie star, the original SUV has built an impressive and unrivaled legacy worthy of a celebration. The original 1935 Suburban could seat eight, while removable seats provided a large 115.1 cubic foot (3,259 L) cargo area when the second-row seats were folded and third-row seats removed. It was powered by an inline-six-cylinder engine that produced 60 horsepower. The 2020 Suburban seats up to nine and offers up to 121.7 cubic feet (3,446 L) of maximum cargo space when second and third-row seats are folded down. The available 6.2L V-8 produces 420 horsepower – seven times the power of the 1935 model – with an EPA-estimated 23 mpg highway. 85 years of innovation Car-based wagons for professional use were offered by most manufacturers throughout the early 1930s. Most of these early vehicles featured wood sides and canvas tops; and while they were versatile, their car-based platforms and damage-prone bodies were not suited for continuous commercial use. It was clear that customers required something more. Chevrolet began testing an all-steel wagon body mounted on a commercial chassis in the mid-1930s. This research and development resulted in the launch of the Suburban Carryall in 1935 – the first heavy-duty, truck-based wagon of its kind. The Suburban’s heavy-duty truck-based chassis increasingly found favor with commercial customers. In the post-World War II growth years, its popularity steadily increased with private customers who appreciated its uncompromising capabilities and dependable utility. The Suburban hit mainstream fame in the early 1990s as part of the SUV boom. While many customers were new to the Suburban, it had a legion of longtime owners over the years. From hauling Little League teams and their equipment, to towing a horse trailer on the ranch, or transporting a work crew to a job site, the Suburban had become a fixture of American culture. Generation 1 – 1935-40 The Suburban Carryall is introduced on a half-ton chassis, with a signature two-door body style that would be produced through 1967. Power came from Chevrolet’s tough “Stovebolt” inline-six that produced 60 horsepower (45 kW). In 1937, new Art Deco exterior design cues were added and power was increased to 79 horsepower (59 kW). Generation 2 – 1941-46 Production of almost all civilian vehicles halted during America’s involvement in World War II, although many Chevy trucks – including the Suburban’s body style – were produced for military duty. Generation 3 – 1947-55 Representing the first significant redesign of Chevrolet’s truck line since before the war, the Suburban was welcomed by professionals in need of an all-new workhorse. Torque from the inline-six engine was 174 lb-ft (217 Nm) at only 1,200 rpm, creating excellent towing capability. Generation 4 – 1955-59 Revolutionary new styling and technology is introduced midway through the 1955 model year. Known as the “second series” design, it featured a wraparound windshield and the elimination of running boards – the body now flush with the fenders. The biggest addition was Chevrolet’s first V-8, the legendary Small Block. In 1955, factory-installed four-wheel drive is offered for the first time, with the famous NAPCO-supplied “Powr-Pak” system. Generation 5 – 1960-66 All-new styling greeted the 1960s and Chevrolet instituted the C/K designations to denote models with 2WD (C) and 4WD (K). In 1963, a ladder-type, channel-section frame replaced the X-member, box-section frames used in previous years. With a focus on passenger comfort in 1965, factory-installed air conditioning and a rear-area heater are offered for the first time. Generation 6 – 1967-72 A redesign of Chevy’s half-ton trucks is introduced, and for the first time since its debut, the Suburban now had three doors – with a single door on the driver’s side and front and rear doors on the passenger side. This new configuration, with easier access to the cargo area, was popular with ambulance companies. Generation 7 – 1973-91 The Suburban is completely redesigned and for the first time, offered a conventional four-door body style. The wheelbase was stretched to 129.5 inches with an increased focus on interior comfort and amenities that brought more personal-use customers to Suburban. By the late-1980s, electronically controlled fuel injection and a four-speed overdrive transmission brought greater efficiency. Generation 8 – 1992-1999 An all-new Suburban featured sleek styling with flush glass and composite headlamps. Other updates included four-wheel antilock brakes, Insta-Trac “shift-on-the-fly” on four-wheel-drive models and a suspension system designed to provide a more carlike ride. In 1998, available OnStar and the full-time AutoTrac all-wheel-drive system are added. In Australia, right-hand-drive versions of the Suburban are offered through GM’s Holden brand. Generation 9 – 2000-2006 Launched in 1999 as a 2000 model, the 10th-generation Suburban brought new styling, new interiors and new powertrains. The engines included the Vortec 5.3L and 6.0L V-8s from the same Gen III Small Block family in the Corvette. New features included for first time are four-wheel disc brakes, a load-leveling suspension system and StabiliTrak electronic stability control. Generation 10 – 2007-14 The Suburban features a wind tunnel-shaped exterior and elimination of traditional chrome front and rear bumpers. More efficient, comfortable and capable than ever, the Suburban continued to offer customers uncompromising capability and versatility. Safety and driver assistance feature updates included electronic trailer sway control, Hill Start Assist and available Side Blind Zone Alert 1. Generation 11 – 2015-Present Completely redesigned to be more functional and refined, while offering more features and a greater range of advanced technologies, the current Suburban is also more efficient, thanks to a range of enhancements that include a more aerodynamic design and a new, direct-injected EcoTec3 5.3L engine. Improved aerodynamics also contributes to a quieter interior. A bevy of standard customer-focused technology features like 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot (requires available data plan) 2, Apple CarPlay 3 and Android Auto 4 are also added.

Take a look at some of the design and functionality enhancements that will make this popular pickup truck even more appealing to buyers in the midsize truck segment. Front End Changes Part of the reason Chevrolet is making major updates to the Colorado is to help differentiate the available trim levels. In order to separate the top-level ZR2 trim from the WT, LT, and Z71 trims, the lower three trims will feature a new lower fascia and grille design, helping them to stand out. more The ZR2 has a more rugged lower fascia that combines the front bumper and grille seamlessly, along with a new set of red tow hooks that complement the other off-roading features. These include front and rear electronically locking differentials, a track that adds an extra 3.5-inches in width, a 2-inch lift, skid plates, and Multimatic dampers. Power and Performance Although Chevrolet hasn't released official details on what will be found beneath the hood, it is expected that the impressive powertrains will carry over into the 2021 lineup. These powertrains include a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder rating at 200 horsepower, a 2.8-liter inline turbocharged four-cylinder diesel powered engine that makes 186 horsepower, and a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that pumps out 308 horsepower. Unique Look From the Rear On the back of the 2021 Colorado, you'll also notice a new and improved tailgate. This tailgate has the brand name embossed on it in large letters, replacing the logo that is featured on the previous models. The result of this upgrade is a more aggressive looking rear that may bring back memories of the Chevy truck lineup from the 1990s. This new tailgate is also available with Chevy's EZ Lift functionality, which makes it easier to raise and lower. The functionality includes an internal torsion bar that simplifies the raising and lowering movements and a rotary damper which allows for a gradual lowering motion when it opens, giving you more control over the movement. Interior Features Although Chevy doesn't plan to make any major updates to the cabin of the Colorado, it's fairly well-equipped with appealing features. On the base trim, you get work-ready features including vinyl upholstery and flooring, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, dual USB ports, a six-speaker audio system, and a 7-inch screen with GM's new Infotainment 3 system. Additional available features include a larger 8-inch screen, extra USB ports, satellite radio, heated seats, automatic climate control, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and navigation. On the safety side, you can also get the truck equipped with forward-collision warning, lane departure warning, and a rearview camera. Chevrolet’s most popular special editions, Midnight and Rally, are back with the new 2020 Silverado 1500. It's a sporty, stylish, and spacious mid-size SUV that is available in L, Blazer (2.0L, 2.5L, 3.6L), RS, and Premier trim levels. A few upgrades have been added for the 2020 model year, most notably a new engine so you can now choose from three power units. Exterior Styling With Camaro-inspired styling, the Blazer really stands out in the crowded SUV market. Find out about the hidden gems and conveniences that make the newest addition to the Chevy lineup stand out from the competition. Convenience Features With the design of the 2020 Corvette placing the engine behind the driver and passenger versus in the traditional location, Chevrolet got creative with the front storage space and refer to the area as the frunk (front trunk). An interesting thing about the frunk is the hidden button located on the front fascia. For security reasons, the button is located above the left air vent, which keeps it hidden. Another convenience feature is available via the remote key used to unlock the car doors. When the unlock button key is pressed and held down, the car windows will lower automatically. This is a nice plus to allow fresh air into the car and cool it down before you get in. more Trunk Space While the Corvette has minimal trunk space, there is plenty of room to store the convertible top regardless of the type of material it's made of, which may be fiber, glass, or a body-colored hard cover. A latch on either side of the opening secures the trunk top in place. When closing the trunk, all that's required is a gentle push as the soft-close system takes care of securing the trunk lid without the need of slamming or pushing the lid to make it latch and lock. Hidden Visual Treats When seated, the audio speaker grille is snugly fitted between the two seats. Chevrolet added a visual enhancement to the speaker- the Corvette's winged logo. Because of the way the holes in the speaker have been drilled at a slant, the logo isn't easily seen when you're in close proximity. You have to be at the perfect angle and distance to see the logo. This is just one of the hidden treats included on the 2020 Corvette. Another place to look for hidden tidbits is on the rear window. Here, instead of lines, dots, or other designs Chevrolet has chosen to add a pattern of "V" shaped black flags. Under the Hood The 2020 Corvette isn't short on power or performance with its V-8 naturally aspirated 6.2-liter engine. One area the engineers wanted to get right is the traditional sound of the Corvette. Because of the new location of the engine, the exhaust tubing must maneuver differently than when the engine was located in the front. What this means for the new model is a new gas routing system and different mufflers, which results in the right sound Corvette owners have come to know so well. The 2020 Corvette is full of surprises that include more conveniences plus the addition of "Easter eggs" placed by engineers. When you expect more from a super car with an established reputation of sass and class than what's traditionally offered, you can count on Chevrolet to deliver.
