2018 Chevrolet Trax in Burien, WA | Burien Chevrolet

Make Tracks to Fun and Adventure in the 2018 Chevrolet Trax

The Chevrolet Trax made its United States debut in 2015 as a comfortable and affordable subcompact SUV. Now that it's 2018, what does the new model have to offer? Here are just some of the reasons that you'll want to try out the new 2018 Chevrolet Trax. Exterior You can choose from three different trims with the Chevrolet Trax: the LS, LT, or Premier. The LT trim has features like LED daytime running lights, heated mirrors, remote vehicle start, and rails for roof-mounted luggage racks. New this year is the Redline Edition Package that you can purchase with the LT trim. This gives you things like black 18-inch wheels with red detailing and seats that are covered in black leatherette and cloth. Three new colors were also added this year, giving you the additional choices of Sandy Ridge Metallic, Cajun Red Tintcoat, and Storm Blue Metallic. If you opt for the highest trim, Premier, you will have a sunroof that is now a standard feature. Performance The Trax is an ideal city car. It is agile with quick steering, making it easy to park and giving it an impressive turning radius. The brakes are some of the strongest you will find, which is important in heavy city traffic for those quick stops. The 2018 model made no changes under the hood since last year. Only one engine is offered, the turbocharged 1.4-liter inline-four with 138 horsepower. It has a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, though all-wheel drive is available. The Chevrolet Trax gets about 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Interior With high seating, ample headroom, and large windows, the Chevrolet Trax feels spacious and roomy. It comes standard with an easy-to-use 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard with any Chevrolet Trax model, as is in-car Wi-Fi. Upgrade to the Premier trim to access features like heated seats and the before-mentioned sunroof. With the exception of the Redline Edition package for the LT trim, there have been no changes to the cabin since last year's model. If you are in need of extra cargo room in the back, the seats fold down easily to offer more room. The maximum cargo space you can plan on is 48.4 cubic feet. Safety You can drive with confidence when you drive the Chevrolet Trax, and it received a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to prove it. There are many safety features available with the Trax, such as blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. Last year's Driver's Confidence II package on the Trax's premier trims now comes standard and includes both lane-departure and forward-collision warnings. If you are looking for an agile car that is easy to handle and perfect for city driving, consider the 2018 Chevrolet Trax. With its roomy interior and available safety features, you'll have a reliable subcompact SUV that suits your needs, whether you use it as a commuter or family car. Live Music in Seattle, WA | Burien Chevrolet

3 Best Venues for Live Music in Seattle

Seattle is home to some of the most famous music legends, including Nirvana and Pearl Jam. It's no surprise that there are plenty of venues for live music all around the city. When you're in the mood for live music, make sure to check out these venues. The Showbox at The Market Located downtown right across from Pike Place Market, this venue is a legend around the city. It first opened its doors in 1939, and everyone from Pearl Jam to Muddy Waters has played in this theater. With a capacity of only 1,100, it's hard to imagine all these famous bands playing in a small venue when they now sell out huge arenas. You can find live music most nights of the week, and they have national and international bands play on their stages. Some of the most popular nights are when the local bands play, however. There are two bars in the venue which are at different levels, so you'll always be able to have a view of the stage. Concert-goers of all ages will enjoy the main floor, where mosh pits can be found for rock shows. Columbia City Theater This is the oldest vaudeville theater in Washington state, as it was built in 1917. Many famous jazz musicians played here in the 1940s, including Ella Fitzergald and Duke Ellington. In the 1980s it became the home of the punk movement, and in the 1990s it turned into an underground rave house and art commune. After closing and getting renovated, it opened back up in 2010 and had the honor of being named the finest-sounding room in Seattle by Spin magazine. The Columbia City Theater now has an elegant look to it with exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, and red velvet curtains. You can now find many local musicians playing there, with the genre being everything from hip-hop to acoustic Americana to burlesque revue. The Highline If you like vegan food and metal music, you'll love The Highline. It has a divey and dark ambiance and is in the middle of the busy Capitol Hill neighborhood. Even if you're a carnivore, you'll be impressed with how tasty the options are that they offer, such as Buffalo wings and country fried tofu. They also have 25 beers on tap to choose from as well as a booze infusion they make themselves. You can find live music from Wednesdays to Sundays, and it's normally very loud. If you want to give singing a shot, stop by on Tuesdays for "cakearoke" to test your skills. When you want to see a live show in Seattle, you'll have no shortage of venues to go to. Check out the local bands to see what's up and coming in the area, as you never know who will be the next big thing. You'll also be treated to an assortment of popular bands coming through the area and playing on the same stages where some of the greatest musicians in history have set foot. Tires on Orange Chevy in Burien, WA | Burien Chevrolet

4 Ways to Make Your Chevy Tires Last Longer

Many people take their vehicles in for regular maintenance such as oil changes but don't think much about their tires. Maintaining your tires is important, as it will improve your drive and make your tires last longer. This will end up saving you in the long run. Here are several ways to make your Chevy tires last longer. Keep the Tires Inflated It's important to check on a regular basis that your tires are properly inflated. Many cars have a sensor that will go off when they're too low, but you don't need to wait until that goes off to see how they're doing. Tires that are over-inflated or under-inflated might not brake, accelerate, or steer correctly. Do this when they are still cold. If you don't know what the correct pressure should be, look in your owner's manual. Many cars also have a sticker that's on the back or driver's side front door that lists the proper pressure for both the rear and front tires. Check the Alignment If you take your vehicle to the tire shop, they can look at your alignment with many different tools. If you want to figure out on your own if you have an alignment problem, you can check it in your driveway first. Look for camber, which is the tilt of the tire away or toward the car's frame, by standing in front of the car to check the front tires or behind it to check the rear tires. If you see that the tires go in, which means the tops are closer than the bottoms are, the tread will wear away on the inside part of the tire first. If the bottoms are closer together than the tops, there is more wear on the outside of the tires. This means it's time to get your tires aligned at the shop. Clean the Tires You'll want to inspect your tires and clean them on a regular basis. Make sure there are no rocks or debris stuck in the treads that could lead to worse problems later on. This will often shorten the life span of your car. When you wash your vehicle, use a bristled brush to scrub the treading. This will get rid of any debris or objects you found. Once you wash the sides and tops of your tires, roll the car backward a few feet so you can wash the other side. Replace Your Tires When Necessary While you can do many things to maintain your tires, there will be a point where you need to completely replace them. You can decide this by doing the penny test. Put the penny so that Lincoln's head points down into the tire tread. If you can see his entire head, it may be time to replace the tire. When you need a new Chevy or service for your current one, come into Burien Chevrolet. We have a wide selection of both new and pre-owned vehicles to choose from and will be happy to show you around our dealership. Photo by Bill Abbott | Licensed by CC BY-SA 2.0

In the summer you'll love sitting outside on their deck and enjoying the sunny weather. Ivar's Salmon House You'll see Ivar's all over the city as casual Fish Bars where you can quickly grab fish and chips to go. This is how the restaurant originally started back in the 1930s, but they've now expanded to more formal restaurants. At Ivar's Salmon House, try the fried Alaska cod, which is the same recipe they've had since they opened. They also have pan-fried oysters and halibut and chips. For something different, try their seafood cocktail or Penn Cove mussels to start your meal. For your entree, try the coho silver salmon or blackened rockfish tacos. Anthony's Homeport If you're looking to treat yourself, visit Anthony's Homeport. This is a great place to come to celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday or an anniversary. Their menu always varies, as it depends on the chef's daily selection of fresh seafood. To start with, try the tempura asparagus or the baked Dungeness crab, shrimp, and artichoke dip. Popular choices for dinner are the roasted garlic crab, Alaska lingcod and chips, and mussels and chips. Their happy hour is every day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a good way to try samplings of their food for less. You'll have no problem finding good seafood when you're in Seattle. From chowder to oysters to salmon, the options for seafood restaurants are endless in this city. Many restaurants are on the water and offer amazing views, so you can look right out over the water and admire where your seafood came from. Photo by LWYang | Licensed by CC BY 2.0

Autumn ushers in the rainy season, so don't forget your umbrella, and the winter weather is temperate, allowing for most activities to continue as normal. The mild year-round climate allows for outdoor activities like cycling, hiking, and golfing. Great Things to Do Victoria has many eateries, museums, galleries, parks, and a lively downtown to explore. The 55-acre Butchart Gardens are a highlight, which can be visited at any time of the year with themed gardens that are not to be missed. Other great gardens and parks are Beacon Hill Park, which leads to the waterfront trail, and the tranquil Asian-inspired Abkhazi Garden. Don't miss the beautiful architecture of the British Columbia Parliament Building overlooking Inner Harbor. If you like beautiful buildings, other places to see are the Fairmont Empress Hotel and Old Town Victoria, which is fun to stroll around. Chevrolet Dealership in Burien, WA

6 Benefits of Buying a Chevrolet Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle

No matter how much research you do on used cars, the industry can still feel like the Wild West for many. With so many used car buyer horror stories, it can be hard to know: Who to trust. If you're getting a good deal. If you're about to buy a lemon. All you want to do is buy a used car! Why does it need to be so hard? Making the used car buying process easier is one of the purposes of Chevrolet's Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program. The Chevrolet CPO is run by their parent company, General Motors, and is similar to many other CPO programs run by competitors. The following are six benefits of going with a Chevy CPO program rather than buying one via a private party sale or other used car dealer. The 3-Day/150-mile Exchange Program This exchange program allows you to exchange your vehicle for another within three days or 150 miles. This perk is usually only afforded to luxury car buyers so it's a nice touch if you're an indecisive person. And because Chevrolet shares their CPO program with Buick and GMC, you can even trade for a different car brand. Access To Exclusive Offers With a CPO vehicle you're eligible for exclusive offers such as special financing. Not all buyers are eligible, so it's best to contact the local dealership to discuss availability. Vehicle Eligibility Requirements A benefit of the CPO program with Chevrolet is the requirement for all vehicles to meet their strict evaluation and manufacturing standards. To earn a certified badge vehicles must: Be a Chevrolet, Buick, or GMC. Be within current plus 5 model years. Have a maximum of 75,000 miles on them. Pass the 172-Point Vehicle Inspection and Reconditioning Process. Know What You're Getting All the vehicles under the CPO come with a free vehicle history report from CARFAX. This report will let you know of any past problems the vehicle may have had including: Service history Wrecks Title issues Damages In a perfect world the vehicle would have a clean slate of health. Recall Information Has Been Verified Cars are issued safety recalls for all sorts of reasons, some major, most minor. With a Chevy CPO vehicle, dealers are required to check for all safety recalls before listing and selling the vehicle. You can also follow up on your own, with vehicle recall status information available on the GM and Safer Car websites. Legitimate Warranty Despite the vehicles being tested and inspected thoroughly, the Chevy CPO program further instills confidence with their warranties.  The Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty is valid for 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first) and includes roadside assistance. The warranty is transferable to subsequent owners, and there are no deductibles for covered repairs. Whether you're buying a used vehicle via the CPO program, a private sale, or any other route, you're the one handing over the cash. Always inspect the vehicle yourself before committing to purchasing the vehicle and give it a test drive. This will give you a chance to detect functional issues and get a feel for if the vehicle is right for you. Photo by JeepersMedia | Licensed by CC BY 2.0

3 Smart Hacks for Detailing Your Chevy

Looking for a few clever hacks for detailing your Chevy? Spring is the perfect time to detail your car. It's likely that you've kept your windows shut all winter thanks to the icy winds, freezing temperatures, and snow. S o this spring, try a few of these detailing hacks to get the interior of your car smelling fresh and sparkling clean. Getting Touch Stains Out Once you do a quick vacuum of your seats, you might find a few stubborn stains which can be a big pain to get out. One of the most common stains in a Chevy is a coffee stain. This is easy to get out. Mix two parts water to one part white vinegar and blot the mixture on the coffee stain. If the stain is ink from a pen or marker, use rubbing alcohol and water or hairspray if you have it. Let it soak into the stain for a few minutes before blotting the stain and rinsing it out. If the stain is from grease, you'll want something a little bit stronger. If the stain is still wet, try blotting it with a dry towel to help absorb the grease. If the stain is dry, you'll need to squirt a few drops of WD-40 on the stain and then blot it with a cloth. Avoid wiping the stain as this will spread it rather than help to remove it. Cleaning the Little Crevices Vacuuming the seats and cleaning the windows is the easy part, but how do you get the dust out of the little crevices like your air vents. If you have a can of compressed air, this is a great way to blow the dust out of those hard to reach places. You can clean the air vents, the areas around all the cars buttons, and even around the edges of all the windows. Once you blow the dust away, you'll want to go over those same areas with a cleaner. Get yourself a small sponge brush that you might use to paint and dampen it with your preferred car cleaner. Then you can use it to get into those same tough places and give it a deep clean. Scrub Grime and Dirt Away If your car has a vinyl interior, you'll likely have dirt embedded in it that you can't see. The most common areas for dirt and grime buildup are your door handles and the center console near your cup holders. Start with a regular kitchen sponge. Use the rougher side of the sponge with a little bit of car cleaner to clean all the vinyl inside the car. If you still have stuck on bits of grime and dirt, grab a toothbrush that you no longer use and go back over those surfaces pushing hard with the bristles. This should help get rid of all those dirt marks. Detailing your Chevy doesn't have to cost a fortune. With these clever hacks, a few household items, and some elbow grease, you can get your car looking and smelling like new in a few hours. The brewery focuses solely on beer, so you won't be able to order food while you're here. Not to worry, though, instead of cooking for you, Rooftop Brewing Company invites local food trucks to park outside the restaurant most nights so that you can grab your food and bring it up to Rooftop to enjoy with your beers. Reuben's Brews Reuben's Brews is an award-winning small brewery where you can enjoy all types of craft beers. The founder and brewmaster, Adam, is originally from the U.K. and he's brought his taste for British ales to the Pacific Northwest. They have four year-round beers that are always available on tap, an IPA, a pilsner, a gose, and a porter. For the rest of the year, they brew different seasonal beers like an Imperial pumpkin in September or a Breakfast stout in December. They don't serve food but have different food trucks outside the bar each night to choose from. You can find taco trucks, Korean food trucks, and barbecue trucks. If you don't see something you like, you can order a pizza to be delivered to the bar, too. Each night you can take part in a different event at the tap room. Bring your friends on Tuesdays for tacos and trivia night. Every Thursday, Reuben's chooses a different charity and $1 from every beer is donated to that charity. Urban Family Brewing Co The Urban Family Brewing Co is a small family-owned brewery in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle. They love creating new beers and flavor combinations. You'll probably never see the same beer twice when you visit, but you'll be sure to find a new beer to love each time. They have 16 taps with everything from guava beer to an Imperial porter. They also always have a different hard cider on tap for those that don't love beer. This is definitely the brewery to try if you enjoy unique beers. They use a lot of sour fruits in their beers like cranberries, blackberries, and nectarines. Similar to the other breweries on this list, they don't serve food but are more than happy for you to bring your own to the bar to enjoy with your beers. No matter what type of beer you're looking for, these three Seattle breweries will have something you're sure to love. Image via Flickr by Tama Leaver used under CC BY 2.0 /cropped from original
