2020 Chevrolet Silverado Chevy kicks off the 2020 model year with its debut of the fully redesigned Silverado 3500 HD. From reliable power and loads of torque to a full suite of advanced technology, work and play just got a whole lot easier with this new pickup. Go ahead and climb inside. You’re going to love it. Here are four reasons why.

Newly Available Powertrain

The overhauled Silverado 3500 HD touts a new 6.6-liter V-8 gas engine under the hood. It leads the class in available torque: 464 pound-feet. It puts out 401 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 6.6-liter diesel V-8 by Duramax delivers 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. It’s available at every trim level, and this engine pairs nicely with the new Allison 10-speed automatic transmission.

Improved Performance

Thanks to the Silverado 3500 HD’s new gasoline engine and class-leading torque, you’ll see significant improvements in this truck’s performance. From a 35,500-pound trailing rating to 7,442 pounds of payload capacity, its ratings top the class, no matter which powertrain you select. It’s now equipped with more advanced technology such as an available EZ Lift tailgate and the 15-way camera that makes towing and maneuvering your trailer a breeze.

Spacious Cabin

Chevrolet’s fourth-generation Silverado 3500 HD’s redesigned cabin offers even more space for front and rear-seat passengers. Its longer wheelbase and higher cab position give you and your crew room to stretch out in comfort, plus it touts loads of storage options. The available, industry-first rear in-seat storage bins are designed to stow away small items, while the 24-liter under-seat compartment is large enough to keep that toolbox safely out of your way.

Choices Galore

For the upcoming model year, Chevy plans to release the Silverado HD in four trim levels and a variety of configurations. There’s a 3500 HD for every heavy-duty job. Select from three cabs, including the regular, an extended double, and the four-door crew cab —  plus two different bed lengths that offer a maximum 83.5 cubic feet of cargo volume. Get your new Silverado equipped with either four-wheel or dual-rear-wheel drive.

Start with the no-nonsense base Work Truck trim, or discover the range-topping, fully loaded High Country variant with leather upholstery and heated and ventilated front seats. Most shoppers will want to take the mid-level LT model out for a spin. It includes loads of appealing amenities, including a WiFi hotspot, more USB ports, and power door locks.

The LTZ trim takes things one step further by adding a number of standard features such as LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, and variable-assist steering. Why not add the optional Safety Package II suite of features, including forward-collision warnings and automatic emergency braking?

Thanks to Chevrolet’s new flagship heavy-duty truck, this segment just got a whole lot more competitive, making the new 3500 HD a compelling choice for 2020. Schedule a test drive at your local showroom today and discover your own reasons to love it.
