Every area of the country has it's own culture, it's own way of being local. Especially when it comes to the holidays! It features forests and a beach of around 2,000 feet in length with stunning views over the Puget Sound. It's a beautiful place to visit at any time of year and you can return time after time to enjoy the changing seasons. Here are five tips to help you to get the most out of this urban oasis. Opening Hours and Parking The park is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The lower parking lot is close to the beach and has around 30 parking spots, five of them for handicapped users. The upper lot is much larger, but is a quarter-mile uphill from the beach; if you or anyone with you has mobility issues, you'll need to arrive early to get in the lower lot as it fills up pretty quickly. Make sure to leave before 9 p.m. as the gates are closed promptly. more The Beach Most people visit Seahurst Park for the stretch of beach which, typical for the Pacific North West, is mostly gravel and small, rounded stones. Plenty of driftwood gets washed up on the shore, which provides something to sit on as well as treasures for beachcombers. In the summer, the beach is very popular with families and some people even brave the chilly waters of the sound. If you want to enjoy it at quiet times, it's advisable to arrive early morning or in the evenings when the view of the sunset across the Puget Sound is stunning. Facilities Close to the beach are indoor restrooms and a children's playground. Two pavilions are available to rent for parties, as well as picnic tables and grills. Along the beachfront path, you'll find plenty of tables and barbecues where you can enjoy a picnic with family or friends. A shop is generally open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Wildlife Spotting Along the shoreline and in the rock pools, you can see anemones, sea stars, and squirting clams. Seabirds and ducks abound, and, if you're fortunate, you might spot herons and eagles. The forest features sequoias, western hemlock, and towering maples, along with shrubs and wildflowers and berries when they're in season. Watch and listen carefully for woodpeckers, owls, raccoons, and more. Enjoy the Walks For walkers, the Park has a number of walking or running trails that give you the opportunity to exercise and explore. The 1.8-mile Seahurst Park Loop Trail is rated as easy, although the 351-feet change in elevation might challenge novice hikers. The trail starts at the lower parking lot and initially follows the beach before heading onto forest paths and around a deep ravine. The trail has several offshoots for you to investigate. When it's wet, some of the muddier paths have wood planks to make the going easier. Dogs are welcome on a leash. In the park, it's hard to believe that you are so close to the city as the peace and beauty surround you. Take some time out to enjoy this amazing location.

It's a sporty, stylish, and spacious mid-size SUV that is available in L, Blazer (2.0L, 2.5L, 3.6L), RS, and Premier trim levels. A few upgrades have been added for the 2020 model year, most notably a new engine so you can now choose from three power units. Exterior Styling With Camaro-inspired styling, the Blazer really stands out in the crowded SUV market. Even the base trim is well equipped and features high-intensity discharge headlights, ultra-thin LED daytime running lights, body-color door handles, heated power side mirrors, 18-inch bright alloy wheels, and LED taillights. The Blazer 2.0L adds rear privacy glass, while the 3.6L with leather offers a programmable power liftgate, auto-dimming side mirrors with turn signals, and black roof rails. According to candy authorities at MentalFloss, trick or treaters of Washington State get the most excited when they get some salt water taffy dropped into their plastic pumpkin buckets. So much so, that we consumer nearly 221,000 pounds of it. We have to admit, we were a little surprised at this as a quick survey revealed almost no one could recall ever receiving salt water taffy as they tallied their Halloween booty as kids. A not close second place, according to the article, was Tootsie Pops with 195,600 pounds being consumed. Third place belongs to Skittles at 72,000 pounds...although we think that amount was probably higher a few years ago when there was a certain rainbow eating runningback playing for the Seahawks. Find out about the hidden gems and conveniences that make the newest addition to the Chevy lineup stand out from the competition. Convenience Features With the design of the 2020 Corvette placing the engine behind the driver and passenger versus in the traditional location, Chevrolet got creative with the front storage space and refer to the area as the frunk (front trunk). An interesting thing about the frunk is the hidden button located on the front fascia. For security reasons, the button is located above the left air vent, which keeps it hidden. Another convenience feature is available via the remote key used to unlock the car doors. When the unlock button key is pressed and held down, the car windows will lower automatically. This is a nice plus to allow fresh air into the car and cool it down before you get in. more Trunk Space While the Corvette has minimal trunk space, there is plenty of room to store the convertible top regardless of the type of material it's made of, which may be fiber, glass, or a body-colored hard cover. A latch on either side of the opening secures the trunk top in place. When closing the trunk, all that's required is a gentle push as the soft-close system takes care of securing the trunk lid without the need of slamming or pushing the lid to make it latch and lock. Hidden Visual Treats When seated, the audio speaker grille is snugly fitted between the two seats. Chevrolet added a visual enhancement to the speaker- the Corvette's winged logo. Because of the way the holes in the speaker have been drilled at a slant, the logo isn't easily seen when you're in close proximity. You have to be at the perfect angle and distance to see the logo. This is just one of the hidden treats included on the 2020 Corvette. Another place to look for hidden tidbits is on the rear window. Here, instead of lines, dots, or other designs Chevrolet has chosen to add a pattern of "V" shaped black flags. Under the Hood The 2020 Corvette isn't short on power or performance with its V-8 naturally aspirated 6.2-liter engine. One area the engineers wanted to get right is the traditional sound of the Corvette. Because of the new location of the engine, the exhaust tubing must maneuver differently than when the engine was located in the front. What this means for the new model is a new gas routing system and different mufflers, which results in the right sound Corvette owners have come to know so well. The 2020 Corvette is full of surprises that include more conveniences plus the addition of "Easter eggs" placed by engineers. When you expect more from a super car with an established reputation of sass and class than what's traditionally offered, you can count on Chevrolet to deliver.

2020 Stingray convertible offers the same storage as coupe, even with the top down Open-air driving has always been a part of the Chevrolet Corvette’s heritage. In fact, when the Corvette debuted in 1953, it was available only as a convertible. The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible builds off that heritage as the first hardtop and mid-engine convertible in Corvette history. “We put the world on notice when we introduced the first mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette a few months ago, and now we’re raising the bar with the first-ever hardtop Corvette convertible,” said Brian Sweeney, Chevrolet U.S. vice president. “And the convertible will be priced only $7,500 more than entry 1LT Stingray coupe.” First and foremost, a convertible The mid-engine 2020 Corvette Stingray was engineered first and foremost as a convertible. The convertible maintains the tunnel-dominant structure and use of high-integrity die-cast parts found in the Stingray coupe. The team engineered the hardtop to stow seamlessly into the body, maintaining the Stingray’s impressive ability to store two sets of golf clubs in the trunk even with the top down. The convertible also keeps the coupe’s front storage compartment, which can fit an airline-spec carry-on and a laptop bag. The hardtop provides a quieter cabin, increased security and a cleaner look compared to the previous softtop designs. “Our goal from the beginning was to make sure customers didn’t have to sacrifice any functionality, performance or comfort when choosing the hardtop convertible,” said Josh Holder, Corvette program engineering manager. “We managed to keep the same design theme as the coupe, as well as the exceptional storage capacity and track capability.” Inspired by jets Like the coupe, the Stingray convertible’s design was inspired by fighter jets. The tonneau cover features aerodynamically shaped nacelles influenced by the housing used for jet engines. The nacelles, which were also used as inspiration on the Chevrolet Engineering Research Vehicle (CERV) I and II, as well as the Corvette SS and SR2 concepts, help reduce air recirculation into the cabin and provide a remarkably exotic profile with the top up or down. The tonneau also provides a rear power-adjustable window and a vent for mid-engine cooling. The two-piece top can be activated at speeds up to 30 mph and retract in as few as 16 seconds. It is powered by six electric motors — a Corvette first — and uses encoders for precise control. Switching to electric motors from hydraulic systems helps increase reliability. A body-colored roof is standard, while Carbon Flash metallic-painted nacelles and roof are optional. Careful attention was paid to make sure the engine could breathe when stored underneath the tonneau cover. The sheet-molded composite top stows in a compartment made from lightweight composite panels and heat shields to manage heat from the engine. A divider glass window in the middle of the vehicle can be power adjusted with the top up or down. The glass has been optimized to reduce air recirculation and wind noise in the cabin for improved quietness. The roof system design, combined with the same rear spoiler used on the Stingray coupe’s Z51 Performance Package, results in identical drag between the coupe and convertible with the top up. Engineers tweaked the chassis for the convertible, with springs and dampers tuned specifically to provide nearly the same performance as the coupe. No compromise performance Like the Stingray coupe, the convertible is powered by the next-generation 6.2L Small Block V-8 LT2 engine, the only naturally aspirated V-8 in the segment. It will produce 495 horsepower (369 kW) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque when equipped with performance exhaust — the most horsepower and torque for any entry Corvette. The LT2 is paired with Chevrolet’s first eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, which provides lightning-fast shifts and excellent power transfer. This transmission is uniquely designed to provide the best of both worlds: the spirited, directly connected feeling of a manual and the premium driving comfort of an automatic. The double-paddle de-clutch feature even allows the driver to disconnect the clutch by holding both paddles for more manual control. When combined, the advanced propulsion system, revised chassis tuning and retractable hardtop make the 2020 Stingray the most no-compromise Corvette convertible in history. The story has it that around 1915 a young girl was playing near Miller Creek when a log dam broke up stream and swept her away.
