What Is the Rainier Classic?

The Rainier Classic is Seattle's premier strongman competition, now marking its sixth year as a signature summer event for the region. Created by Dungeon Strength RX and built on a tradition of inclusive, real-world feats, the Rainier Classic tests athletes using stones, blocks, vehicles and other heavy objects inspired by feats of strength throughout history.

This year welcomes both open and new Pro-Am divisions, including the first 82kg Pro-Am Women's Division and 105kg Pro-Am Men's Division. Top competitors are chasing cash prizes, the coveted Strongman Corporation Pro Card, and spots at both the Arnold World Championships and J.F. Caron's North America's Strongest Man.

Why Is Burien Chevrolet Involved?

Burien Chevrolet is committed to supporting local events that bring neighbors and families together:

  • Local Business Support: Burien Chevrolet is proud to clear its active vehicle lot to support Dungeon Strength RX and promote local Northwest lifting talent.
  • Calibrated Chevrolet Deadlifts: Actual Chevy trucks and SUVs from our inventory will be the featured heavy cargo for the signature Car/Truck Deadlift event, putting the strength of both athletes and vehicles on display.
  • Shaded Comfort: July in Washington can bring unexpected heat. To keep the viewing experience comfortable, professional commercial canopies will cover all major spectator areas.

2026 Rainier Classic Events List

  • Block Press Medley: Athletes press heavy blocks overhead this year on new professional IFSA Aluminum Press Blocks.
  • Car/Truck Deadlift: Competitors go head-to-head, pulling full-sized Chevrolet trucks and SUVs from the Burien lot in a test of max reps.
  • Sandbag Throw Medley: A battle for speed and explosive power, throwing sandbags of increasing weight over a raised bar.
  • Trump Circus Dumbbell: Challengers attempt overhead presses with a thick-handled, awkward circus dumbbell using just one arm.
  • Mystery Event: 4 Mystery Objects: The details are kept secret until event week, testing pure, real-world adaptability.
  • Washington Natural Stone to Shoulder: Harnessing pure grit, athletes hoist raw Washington-sourced stones to their shoulders, recalling strongman roots.
