2020 Chevrolet Sonic

The Sonic is offered as the LS sedan or the LT and Premier trim levels in sedan or hatchback body styles. It features a bold front lower grille and a sleek upper grille flanked by automatic projector beam headlights and LED daytime running lights. The sculpted aerodynamic profile flows through to the stylish trunk or sporty hatchback.

LS models have tinted solar absorbing glass, remote keyless entry, 15-inch steel wheels with bolt-on covers, and body-colored door handles and mirrors. The LT trim adds chrome beltline moldings, alloy wheels, and heated power adjustable mirrors. Stepping up to the Premier trim gets you 17-inch painted aluminum wheels.

All Sonic models feature a lively and responsive 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that produces 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. Power is transferred to the front wheels by a smooth and effortless six-speed automatic transmission.

The miserly Sonic will return up to 26 mpg around the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The perky engine makes it fun to drive around town, while having enough power to make easy work of merging onto the freeway. The gear shift has a useful thumb selector that allows you to choose between the six forward gears in manual mode.

In the driver-focused, contemporary, and tech-savvy cabin of the Sonic, you'll find intuitively placed controls. It features comfortable seating for five passengers and 14.9 cubic feet of trunk space. With the rear seats folded flat, the hatchback models offer 47.7 cubic feet of cargo space for when you've got more gear than passengers.

The LS trim has sport cloth seat trim, a four-way adjustable driver's seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a driver information center, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, a manual tilting steering column, manual windows, an interior remote trunk release, and a 12-volt power outlet.

The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System features a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, Bluetooth, voice command, a 4G Wi-Fi hot spot, an auxiliary input jack, USB media ports, and four-speaker audio. OnStar and Chevrolet Connected services enable you to use your mobile device as a command center.

LT models add deluxe cloth seats, cruise control, power windows, and six-speaker audio with satellite radio. Premier trims offer perforated leatherette upholstery, heated power adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, and an enhanced driver information center.

Standard safety features on the Sonic include front, side, knee, and head-curtain air bags, a four-wheel anti-lock braking system, panic brake assist, electronic brake force distribution, electronic traction control, electronic stability control, a rearview camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Adding the Driver Confidence Package to LT and Premier models gives you forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and rear parking sensors.
