The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD boasts two heavy-duty powertrains, increased tow and payload ratings, a larger and stronger Durabed, and a spacious interior.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2020 Silverado 2500HD comes in five trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country. You can also choose between a regular, double, or crew cab body style, as well as a standard or a long bed. Standard features include 17-inch steel wheels, black vertical trailering mirrors, cargo tie-downs, daytime running lights, halogen reflector headlights, box side steps, two front tow hooks, fender flares, and Class IV trailering.
The Custom trim adds 20-inch aluminum wheels, LED taillights, power-adjustable vertical trailering mirrors, and deep-tinted glass, while the LT trim comes with 17-inch aluminum wheels, a tailgate with EZ lift-and-lower assist, and an integrated trailer brake controller. With the LTZ trim, you'll get 18-inch aluminum wheels, LED fog lights, LED headlights, and power-folding mirrors. The High Country trim boasts 20-inch aluminum wheels, chrome assist steps, cargo bed LED lighting, a spray-on bedliner, LED headlights with LED turn-signal indicators, and a power up-and-down tailgate.
Engine (Power)
The Silverado 2500HD features a gasoline and a diesel engine. The gasoline engine is a 6.6-liter V-8 that is paired with a six-speed automatic to create 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, while the diesel engine is a 6.6-liter V-8, which is mated to a 10-speed automatic to produce 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional.
Performance
The new Silverado is constructed from seven different types of steel for increased strength and capability. It also features a lengthened and strengthened frame, which makes for a longer cargo bed. The bed is the most functional in its class, featuring 12 standard tie-downs and standard bed steps at all four corners of the bed. You can also opt for LED bed lighting and a built-in 120-volt outlet.
With the Silverado, you'll get excellent tow ratings of 18,500 pounds with the diesel engine and 17,400 pounds with the gasoline engine. The available Advanced Trailering System makes for effortless and safe towing by offering 15 views through eight cameras.
Interior
The cabin of the Silverado is spacious and can be customized according to your needs. The standard infotainment system features a 7-inch display, a USB port, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and Bluetooth. Available upgrades include an 8-inch display, SiriusXM, HD radio, navigation, and a Bose premium sound system.
The base trim comes with a 40/20/40 split-bench front seat, vinyl upholstery, and air conditioning, while the Custom trim adds cloth upholstery, cruise control, and remote keyless entry. The LT trim adds front armrest storage. With the LTZ trim provides loads of convenient features including an HD rear-vision camera, front under-seat storage, driver-seat memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless open and start, and leather upholstery. The High Country trim adds a Bose premium sound system, navigation, heated rear seats, and ventilated front seats.
Safety Features
Standard safety features include a rearview camera, a tire-pressure monitoring system, brake assist, and electronic stability control. Available features include front and rear park assist and lane change alert with side blind zone alert.
