2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The Silverado 1500 is available in Work Truck (WT), Custom, LT, RST, LTZ, and High Country trim levels. Additionally, the rugged Custom Trail Boss and LT Trail Boss have unique black styling cues and off-road features. The WT offers daytime running lights, black bumpers, 17-inch steel wheels, cab-mounted cargo lights, 12 cargo tie-downs, and a corner step rear bumper.

Custom models add color-keyed bumpers, heated power mirrors, deep tinted glass, 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED taillamps. The LT trim adds chrome bumpers, LED headlamps, chrome mirrors, color-keyed door handles, 17-inch wheels, and an EZ-lower and lift tailgate.

The RST trim features LED fog lamps, color-keyed bumpers, 18-inch wheels, LED cargo bed lighting, a power locking tailgate, and LED taillamps. LTZ models offer chrome trim and power-folding auto-dimming mirrors, while the High Country has high-intensity LED headlamps, chrome side steps, 20-inch wheels, and a power tailgate.

The base engine is a 4.3-liter V-6 generating 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. It's mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. A 2.7-liter turbocharged engine is paired with an eight-speed auto to deliver 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet.

Next up is a 5.3-liter V-8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission or a 10-speed auto on all-wheel drive models. Opting for the 6.2-liter V-8 gives you 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel gives you 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission is paired with both of these engines.

Depending on your choice of engine, cab, and bed, the Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,400 pounds and offers a payload of up to 2,250 pounds. The miserly turbo-diesel engine will give you up to 23 mpg for city driving and 33 mpg on the highway.

The cab of the WT offers hard-wearing vinyl seats, air conditioning, and a 3.5-inch cluster display. The infotainment system features smartphone integration, voice recognition, Bluetooth, six-speaker audio, and a 7-inch touch screen. Custom models add cloth upholstery and cruise control, while LT models have a 4.2-inch cluster display, an 8-inch touch screen, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

RST trims offer keyless entry and remote start, while the LTZ has leather seating, heated power-adjustable front seats, driver's seat and door mirror memory, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, two-zone automatic temperature control, two 120-volt power points, and an upgraded multimedia system with satellite and HD radio. High Country models add ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, an 8-inch cluster display, navigation, and a Bose seven-speaker audio system.

The Silverado's safety features include a stability control system, a backup camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The LTZ trim adds an HD backup camera with hitch view, while High Country models have side blind zone warning, lane change warning, rear cross-traffic warning, and front and rear parking sensors.
