The 2020 Chevrolet Colorado is a midsize truck that offers a comfortable ride, a choice of three powertrains, easy-to-use controls, and excellent off-road performance.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are a few configuration options with the Colorado, including extended and crew cab body styles, as well as short and standard bed lengths. You can also choose from five trim levels: the base, Work Truck, LT, Z71, and ZR2. Standard features include a chrome grille, a rear step bumper, 16-inch steel wheels, manual-folding windows, cargo bed lights, fully automatic headlights, and daytime running lights.
Higher trims add 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels, an EZ lift tailgate, a remote-locking tailgate, fog lights, heated and power-adjustable mirrors, a bedliner, fender flares, skid plates, a vinyl tonneau cover, side steps, and Class IV trailering with a harness, hitch, and brake controller. Exciting exterior colors that you can choose from include Kinetic Blue Metallic, Doeskin Tan, Cajun Red Tintcoat, and Pacific Blue Metallic.
Engine (Power)
You can choose from three engines with the new Colorado. The base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that is paired with a six-speed manual transmission that makes 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. However, you can also opt for an available six-speed automatic transmission.
Next in line is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that is mated to an eight-speed automatic to produce 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. There is also a 2.8-liter turbo-charged diesel engine that is paired with a six-speed automatic that creates 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. With this engine, you will be able to tow up to 7,700 pounds.
Performance
The Colorado features two off-road-focused trims, the Z71 and the ZR2. Boasting off-road features like all-terrain tires, off-road suspension, a locking rear differential, hill descent control, and two front two hooks, the Z71 trim will give you good off-road capability. The ZR2 trim, however, offers even better off-road performance, featuring a raised suspension, unique body dampers, a limited-slip rear differential, bigger all-terrain tires, a special rear and front bumper, and fender flares.
Interior
The cabin of the Colorado features easy-to-use controls and quality materials. The standard infotainment system is well-equipped, offering a 7-inch display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and six speakers. You can also opt for a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, an eight-inch display, a Bose premium sound system, navigation, and satellite radio. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, vinyl upholstery, vinyl floor covering, and electronic power steering.
Higher trims add convenient features like cloth upholstery, carpeting, front and rear cupholders, cruise control, a heated leather steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver's seat, cloth upholstery, automatic temperature control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, remote engine start, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and heated front seats.
Safety Features
Standard safety features included with the Colorado include a rearview camera, traction control, a tire-pressure monitoring system, and electronic stability control. You can also opt for available advanced driver-assist features that include forward collision warning and lane departure warning systems.
