New Trim Level
The addition of a new trim level is one of the most significant changes for the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. In 2020, trim levels were the L, LS, LT, and Premier. Now, you’ll find an RS trim in the lineup. This sportier version of the Equinox will boast a gloss black grille, 19-inch gloss black wheels, and black bow tie emblems. As for the inside, you’ll find a distinctive RS-specific shift knob and black upholstery with bold red stitching that really makes a statement.
Even Better Interior
Previous versions of the Equinox offered plenty of interior space and comfort. Now, it’s even better. You can sit back and relax in leather-appointed seats with French stitching. There’s plenty of room for up to five passengers, and when you don’t need the space for passengers, you can fold the seats down to create a large area for hauling your gear. Even with the seats up, you’ll have lots of room to pack in groceries or bags for a trip out of town.
The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system is still found inside, and you can stay connected to your phone through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. The touch screen is easy to use and keeps all your apps organized and accessible. An available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot will let you connect devices so your passengers can search, post, or browse as you travel.
Exterior Design Features
Both the front and rear fascias will have some differences for the 2021 Chevy Equinox. The front end has a more aggressive appearance, making it really stand out on the road. It now has standard LED headlights and taillights as well as a gloss black grille with chrome inserts. You’ll notice that the tailpipes have a premium look compared to past models.
Engine Options
Two engines are available on this SUV, a 1.5-liter turbo and a 2.0-liter turbo. The first option is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and the second one comes paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
More Safety Features
The 2021 Equinox has more standard safety features to keep you even safer when you drive. Whether you’re going down the street or across the country, your drive will be so much better and safer with lane-keeping assist, a lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, automatic emergency braking, and a following distance indicator.
